There are 8 Bronze tigers installed on pedestals in the Mysore Palace. These larger than life size bronze tigers are major attractions in the palace, especially among the children.
Six of them are located on the arenea in front of the palace building. The are installed in pairs as if it guards the 3 pathways radiate out of this expansive courtyard in front of the palace.
Another pair is located inside the palace building. You can see this pair on the porch inside the palace , near the Marriage Pavilion. When inside the palace , look through one of the windows that opens to the central open quadrangle. You'll fine two bronze tigers on either sides of the steps leading to the Marriage Pavilion from this quadrangle.
These were executed by acclaimed sculptor Robert Williams Colton of the Royal Academy of Arts, London in 1909.
The marble statue of Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar ( located at new statue circle, facing the north gate of palace) is also executed by Colton.
