Bangalore to Srirangapatna distance is about 125km (78 miles ). You can reach srirangapatna from Bangalore by road or rail.

By car: If you are traveling by car, take the Bangalore-Mysore highway (SH17). This highway passes right through the Srirangapatna island. It’s about 2½ to 3 hours drive from Bangalore. Mysore city is another 20km ahead on the highway.

By Bus: KSRTC operates many bus services (in every 30 minutes) that connect Bangalore with Srirangapatna. All the bus services from Bangalore towards Mysore pass through Srirangapatna town. There are various types of services , from the slower (and economical) Karnataka Sarige services to the luxury class Airavat Services (Volvo buses). Go to the Mysore platform at the Majestic bus station in Bangalore.

If you are traveling by the luxury class bus, request the conductor to drop at Srirangapatina, as these buses doesn’t enter the Srirangapatna bus stand. However you can get down at the Srirangapatna town square.

By train: There are a few daily express and the slower passenger train from Bangalore to Mysore via Srirangapatna. Most of the Mysore bound trains stops at Srirangapatna. Express trains takes just under 2½ hours from Bangalore City junction to Srirangapatna.

Indian railways write the places name as Shrirangapatna.Use this spelling while searching for trains on the railway website.

The railway station is located at the northwestern corner of the island. Srirangaswamy temple, a major landmark in the island is very close to the railway station. To reach most of other attractions from the station you need to take an auto-rickshaw.
