There are 6 daily train services from Mysore to Chamarajanagar via Nanjangud. All are passenger trains.

Train number 56214 (Tirupati - Chamarajanagar fast passenger) is the fastest.

In addition there is a daily passenger train goes up to Nunjugod from Mysore and returns to Mysore (Train No 56206, departure from Mysore at 9am,Train No 56205,  departure from Nanjangud at 10am) .

It's about 1 hour journey between Mysore and Nanjangud ;  About 2 hours between Chamarajanagar and Mysore.

Note, there are also frequent bus service between Mysore and Chamarajanagar via Nanjangud. The Ooty bound buses travel via this route.
