More is one of the biggest shopping malls in Mysore. This is the new incarnation of the erstwhile Fab City, that was the first such large scale supermarket in Mysore city
In fact More have many smaller outlets spread across the city and the biggest one is at Narayana Shastry road in the city center. Spread over the 4 floors, this also one of the busiest in the city. Weekends , especially during the beginning of the months, draws phenomenal crowd. So are the onset of festival seasons.
Those long seasonal queues at the checkout counters apart, More is a great place to shop for provisions, casual cloths and other daily usage commodities.
The ground floor stock a great deal of groceries, toiletries, vegetables and some deal of fruits. At the far end is a bakery that sells am impressive range of pastries and other baked stuffs. This is one place in Mysore where you can buy an assorted range of breads, all baked at the oven right inside the shopping mall.
Another speciality of More supermarket is their exclusive shop for wines. This is on the ground floor, right next to the bakery. They have a pretty decent collection of wines and other premium whiskies. Of course you can also buy from here the regular IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor!) like whisky, rum, vodka, beer and so on.
The apparel section is massive, a lot more space is for casual wears. Many times they offer stuffs at bargain prices. Of course you've to scramble through those heaps of cloths to pick your choice.
The electronics section is dominated by typical Indian consumer white goods, like TV, washing machine and so on.
Like mentioned earlier, the main More supermarket is on the Narayana Shasthry road. This is a usually congested (means no parking space on the road) short stretch of road that connects Dhanvantri road withe the Devaraj Urs road. Narayana Shasthry road is one-way with entry from the Dhanvantri road side. The other end (south) of the Narayana Shasthry road joins the Devaraj Urs road after crossing the Shivarampet main road. Car parking space is in the underground of the super market. It is a short walk down to the More supermarket from the west half of Devaraj Urs road.
Big Bazaar on JLB Road and Loyal World on the Temple road are other large supermarkets in the city.
