Located on JLB Road , Royal Orchid Metropole (Hotel Metropol) is a heritage hotel with a 4 star status. The property was used as royal guest house during days of the Wodeyar rulers.

You are in for a near perfect experience of those bygone era. Unusually spacious rooms, antique furniture, tall ceilings with teak paneling, elegant spiral stairways , all juxtapositioned create that old-world charm.

It's difficult to which is better, that old world aura of this heritage hotel or their cuisine fanfare.

It's still more difficult to say what's more elegant - the buffet lunch served in that sprawling hall with bygone era furniture and fittings or those romantic candle light dinner in open court.

In any case never miss their buffet lunch. This is a great value pack, both in terms of its culinary delight and the ambient in which it is served.

Evenings, you can spend relaxing time working on some of the authentic tandoor fares. Try Chandi Ka Tikka, marinated chicken done on earthen oven or Tandoori Jhinga, clay oven roasted prawns tastefully done with spices. The kebab counter is right around the court, adds to the whole ambient.

Of course you can opt for chilled beer or choice of other wines.

Also keep in mind, you can book at the restaurant even if you are not staying as a guest at Metropol.
