Bangalore to Mysore distance by road is about 140 kilometers. The approximate traveling time is 3 hours, from Majestic (in Bangalore) to Mysore city.You can chose road or rail connectivity, and of course there is a flight connection too between Bangalore and Mysore.

Talking about the road connection, you can either opt for the public transport (by KSRTC bus) or drive all the way to Mysore.

Bangalore to Mysore by bus:  Buses to Mysore are operated from the KSRTC Satellite bus stand on the Mysore Road.

During the day time (6am to about 8pm) there are quite frequent bus connections from Bangalore to Mysore. After that you may have to look for one of those long distance buses that passes via Mysore. You can buy the tickets at the counter located on the platform, or from inside the bus.The ticket cost ( and travel time too) vary depends on the type of service. Bangalore to Mysore by Train: While the bus services are popular for its frequency, the train option is relatively cheaper and a lot comfortable too.
More than a dozen express trains connect Bangalore with Mysore. Most of them are daily trains. In addition, there are many passenger (slow) trains too between Bangalore and Mysore.

Tippu Express ( Train No: 12614) that leaves Bangalore city junction at 3pm and arrives Mysore by 5.30pm is a very popular inter city express train.
Another evening train from Bangalore to Mysore is the Chamundi Express ( Train No:16216) that leaves Bangalore city Jn by 6.15 pm and arrives Mysore by 9.10pm.

Morning trains to Mysore include the Kaveri Express ( Train No:16222 ),  Mayiladuturai – Mysore Express ( Train No:16231 ),Tuticorin – Mysore Express (Train No:  16731) , Yesvantpur – Mysore Express (Train No:6503 ) etc.

Bangalore to Mysore by road: The state highway (SH17) connects Bangalore with Mysore. This is a busy but fast moving route between the two cities. This 140 km or so route is 4 lane with many towns and villages on the way. You should reach Mysore city in about 3 hours from Bangalore. The route is like this.
