Mysore Airport ( MYQ ) is located about 12km (7miles) south of Mysore City. This is a relatively small airport with limited flight operations. Only ATR (the smaller aircrafts) operate from Mysore airport. This is a good option for those who are traveling to Mysore and other towns districts around Mysore like Coorg, Chamarajanagar, Hassan , Mandya and so on. The airport is locally called Mandakalli Airport, after the place in Mysore it is located.
Currently there is no regular commercial flight operations to Mysore, though there could be chartered/seasonal special flights.
Accessing Mysore airport is quite easy from the city center. It is just 12 km south on the Mysore to Ooty highway (NH212). This road is well connected by city bus that head towards Nanjangud. Also may Ooty and Calicut bound long distance buses operate on this road. However if you are not comfortable with the bus option, take a taxi from Mysore city (it’s about 30 minutes drive).
